About Us

Simington Gardens is a small, certified organic family farm located in Aurora, Oregon, just 25 miles south of Portland. Michael Simington, our founder, comes from a family of Oregon farmers and educators, some of whom traveled west on the Oregon Trail to homestead in the Willamette Valley and others who came later, traveling from their Arkansas farms to the newly formed Vanport community working in the Kaiser Shipyards during WWII. Like his ancestors, Mike is adventurous, hardworking, and focused on making a contribution to his community. In 2007, he decided to return to his farming roots and started our farm. Nine years later, the farm keeps growing with customers as varied as New Season Markets, farmers markets and restaurants, and individual farm-share (CSA) members. Mike’s focus for the farm remains the same as the day he began, growing high quality, healthy, organic produce for his community.

At our core, Simington Gardens is a hardworking farm focused on providing a large selection of produce to our customers year-round. Now in our ninth season of farming, we continue to grow and expand our produce availability while maintaining our core intention: produce better food for the communities around us. Together we promote sustainable food systems, encourage cooperative interaction, and establish interdependent relationships as we reduce reliance on unsustainable agriculture.

We hope you enjoy our produce and we welcome you to the Simington Gardens family.
